I'm really looking forward to reading more of your trip and seeing more pictures! It's like watching a travel show on tv, only better since the travelling is done by someone I know a little bit.
And of course, it's great seeing pictures from your country which is far away from my own. I guess we're exotic to each other. :)

I guess the kitten found a way down by itself, kittens do have the habit of mewing if they're too high up, but if they have to, they often can find a way down. It's just much easier to be lifted down.
